At nearly 51, Evie describes herself as a menopausal woman who had reached a point of real frustration with her weight. Standing at 5ft 6in, she began her journey at 18st 2lb and now weighs 15st. In that time she has gone from a size 22 to 24 down to a 16 to 18, and says that for the first time in her life she feels in control of her eating.
“I had tried every diet going,” she says. “I spent so much money on diet groups and diet pills, many that I knew were not reputable, and I just could not stick to them for more than two or three weeks. My confidence was rock bottom. I kept asking myself, why can’t I control my cravings?”
A life changing shift
Evie’s relationship with food has been shaped by decades of dieting and disappointment. She describes alternating between strict, bland regimes and periods of feeling completely out of control. “I did not even know what it felt like to be full,” she says. “It was as though my hunger switch was stuck on.”
That changed when she started treatment with Mounjaro.
“It was life changing,” she says. “My cravings disappeared instantly, and for the first time ever I could leave food on my plate. For 50 years I had been conditioned to clear my plate, whether I was full or not. I did not realise how freeing it could be to eat normally.”
With Mounjaro, Evie found that she could listen to her body’s signals, eating when hungry and stopping when satisfied.
I finally eat when I am hungry and stop when I am full,” she says. “It has changed everything, and I know there is more progress ahead.

Continuing the journey with Wegovy
After several months, Evie made the decision to move from Mounjaro to Wegovy. “I could not afford Mounjaro anymore, so I switched to Wegovy,” she explains. “It is not quite as powerful for me, but it is still helping me continue my journey.”
Although she knows she has not reached her goal yet, Evie already feels the benefits in her daily life. “I still have a way to go, but I can see the difference already,” she says. “I have more confidence, my clothes fit better, and I feel more like myself.”
A new perspective on success
Evie no longer focuses on a specific number on the scales. Instead, she is guided by how she feels and the simple pleasures that come with progress. “My goal is not a number, it is a feeling,” she says. “When I can walk into a shop, pick something off the rail and know it will fit, that is success to me.”
She has also found renewed optimism about her health and future. “I just want to say thank you to CheqUp for giving me my life back,” she says. “It is a great feeling knowing I can control myself around food now. I feel hopeful and proud of what I have achieved, and I know there is more to come.”
For Evie, the combination of medical treatment and the right support has made all the difference. “I used to think I was a failure,” she reflects. “Now I know I just needed the right help. I am not finished yet, but for the first time in years, I believe I will get there.”
